Crest of the Bad Kissingen Military Community. Bad Kissingen MilCom consisted of the military units and the civilian components, such as DoDDS (U.S. Schools), DEH (Department of Engineering and Housing) etc. and, of course, the soldiers families that lived in Bad Kissingen. |

2nd Squadron 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment (Blackhorse). The 2-11 ACR was stationed in Daley-Barracks from 1972 - 1993. Then the unit relocated to Wildflecken. The unit's peace-time mission was border duty at the nearby border to East-Germany. |

2nd Battalion 41st Field Artillery. 2-41 FA came to BK in 1968. Before that the unit was stationed in Aschaffenburg. 2-41 FA was one of the 3rd Infantry Division's Division-Artillery units. |

Battery A 3rd Battalion 52 Air Defense Artillery. Btry A operated the HAWK Missile Site at Reiterswiesen which used to be part of the air-defense-belt along the border to East-Germany. The unit was part of the 32nd Air Defense command |

First units / organisations stationed in Manteuffel-Kaserne

Kradschützenbataillon 2 (2. Panzerdivison - 2nd Tank Division). The Kradschützenbataillon was the first military unit that occupied Manteuffel-Kaserne. The unit arrived on 1 June 1937. After the occupation of Austria the unit was relocated to Eisenstadt in Austria on 12 March 1938. |

Company 4 of Medical Replacement Battalion 13. From 1938 thru the war's end in 1945 Manteuffel-Kaserne was used to accomodate a training unit for German Army medics and served as a rest center for sick and wounded soldiers. |

On June 6, 1945 the Headquarters of the 9th U.S. Air Force moved from Chantilly, France to Bad Kissingen. |

On November 1, 1945, the XII Tactical Air Command moved to Bad Kissingen from Erlangen and consolidated with the 9th Air Force. |

International Refugee Organisation. Bad Kissingen served as headquarters for the IRO of the U.S. Zone of Occupation. It was the IRO's mission to find ways for foreign refugees (no Germans!!) that could not go back to their homelands to immigrate to other countries. IRO offered vocational and language training and negotiated immigration issues and possible employment with the economy of countries like USA, Australia, Canada and others. |

2nd Squadron 14th Armored Cavalry Regiment (Suivez Moi). The 2-14 ACR was stationed in Daley-Barracks from 1951 - 1972 before it was replaced by the 2-11th ACR. The Battalion's mission was the same as the 11th ACR's. |
